Designing houses for young couples is always challenging.
Is it an apartment?
Or a house would be better?
The answer can vary and the outcome can remain unknown...

Our Solution

The only certitude is that the concept design of an independent house was requested from us.
The land is situated on a hill, in a distinguished quarter of Cornet Chahwan. It overlooks the main street and has outstanding panoramic views over the valley, the sea, and the mountains.
The parcel (550m2) along the east border of the land is a private garden owned by the parents of the couple, and is intended to remain intact.
Two alternatives were prepared, both taking the land specific characteristics into consideration.

Alternative one consists of a cross structural grid perfectly aligned with a cross architectural circulation, while slightly elevating the house above ground.
The basement includes a parking, the service entrance and spaces, as well as a media room whose external wall is a dual screen, either to the inside or to the outside, and is connected to the landscaped garden through outdoor steps...
The Ground Floor houses the reception areas, a guest bedroom and the kitchen. Two bedrooms are located on the 1st floor, as well as a generous Master bedroom featuring an introverted landscaped garden.
The house is designed with big glazed bays flooding natural light and ventilation in each and every space while perfectly preserving their privacy according to their functions...
Alternative two takes over the same architectural disposition with a more extroverted treatment.
