The time where everything was still drawn by hand. No computers, no 2D-3D software... Just Ink pens, T squares, Triangles, etc... To put things in Context. The project consists of extending the existing single floor traditional house, and rehabilitate its spaces to accommodate the Owner's requirements for a duplex. A porch is added at the entrance of the house, and the GF is adjusted to include the reception spaces, the kitchen and Maid's, as well as the grand stair up to the bedrooms. The second-floor houses 2 bedrooms, and 1 Master Bedroom. The Master Bedroom's balcony overlooks the double height winter garden introduced on the south-west corner of the house. The family living is located in the center of the added floor and features an outdoor balcony with a wide glazed opening framed by a single arch. The added parts of the house on top of the existing old house are treated with the same stone and constructed in the same traditional way. The other parts that are added to the main volume are treated with coated monocouche plaster. These are carefully integrated into the architecture through subtle details offsetting them from the main structure, while their openings have their frames in stone to blend in the newly constructed parts with the old house.
